Cottonseed Protein Production Line

3.1 Cottonseed protein can be used for production of basic feed for cows, which are raised for organic milk and organic beef .

4. Process Description
Cottonseed go through delinting, husking, low temperature softening, flaking, conditioning, leaching, degreasing , drying, toxic substance (gossypol) removal to produce cottonseed protein, which contains about 90 percent globin.
Production Process
(1) Cottonseed Dehulling Section
The incoming material first enters the elevator of the pretreatment workshop, which sends the material to the magnetic separator to remove iron and miscellaneous. In order to ensure the orderly production of the workshop and stable and continuous production, the cotton seeds then enter the measuring scale for metering. In order to maintain a high whole kernel rate, the subsequent use of Bar Dehuller and Kernel shell separation screen & windscreen can ensure that the kernel in shell and shell in kernel both reach the process set indicators. The material then enters the vertical softener and flaker for softening and ginning, after which the flat dryer is equipped to adjust the temperature and moisture of the cotton billet and then enters the solvent extraction workshop for defatting and dephenolization.
(2) Cottonseed Meal Degreasing and Dephenolizing Section
Solvent extraction defatting, desolventizing, dephenolization, mixed oil refining, evaporation and condensation, tail gas absorption process.
The cotton flake delivered from the pretreatment plant first pass through the hexane extraction and defatting section, and then enter the methanol dephenolization section. The mixed oil from the defatting section is evaporated and refined to get cottonseed oil. The cotton protein from the dephenolization section is sent to the next process for crushing and packaging, and the cotton phenol mixture is evaporated and condensed to recover methanol.
(1) Defatting Section
The cottonseed flakes are conveyed by the incoming scraper to the drag chain extractor level control box, and evenly enter the 1# drag chain extractor, after several cycles of solvent spraying, soaking and draining, and then washing by fresh solvent spraying (solvent and material flow in the opposite direction), and finally the leached meal falls into the wet meal scraper conveyor after final draining, and is sent to the vertical disc dryer and horizontal dryer; the thick mixed oil first passes through the spin-liquid separator to remove impurities, and then enters the filter to remove impurities before entering the evaporation system.
(2) Desolventizing Section
The wet meal is sent to the vertical disc dryer and horizontal dryer through conveying equipment after low temperature desolvation, and then sent to the methanol dephenolization section.
(3) Methanol Dephenolization Section
After desolvation, the cotton meal enters into 2# drag chain extractor, and after methanol spraying and soaking, the cotton phenol is removed.
The material level of the leach box is controlled by the level automatic control system to maintain a certain level height. The level automatic control system adopts radar level meter control, and the frequency converter can automatically adjust the movement speed of the chain in the leach box.
The drag chain extractor consists of scraper chain and fixed grate, the meal on the grate is soaked and sprayed by methanol, with the movement of scraper and chain, the material moves forward slowly on the grate, a large amount of cotton phenol is dissolved in the solvent, and then sprayed with fresh methanol on the grate near the discharge of the leach. The material runs in the opposite direction to the increasing methanol concentration, thus becoming a counter-current operation. Each circulation pump of the extractor sprays the material on the grate with different concentrations of methanol, in order to achieve the dual leaching purpose of cotton phenol diffusion and solvent penetration.
In order to reduce the meal content in the thick mixture, the thick mixture is pumped from the oil collection hopper into the filter, impurities flow into the leach, and the clear mixture enters the methanol mixture tank to be evaporated.
(4) Evaporation and Condensation Process
In the defatting section, the purified mixed oil enters a steam after flow control, and the evaporated solvent enters the vacuum condenser through the separator. Adopting full negative pressure evaporation can lower the boiling point of mixed oil and improve the heat utilization rate. The concentration of mixed oil can reach 75% after one steam is concentrated, the mixed oil from one steam enters the mixed oil refining process, and enters the second steam after refining, the shell process of the second evaporator is heated with indirect steam, the steam consumption of the second steam is very low, the exported mixed oil is then pumped into the combined steam lifting tower, the mixed oil falls into the steam lifting tower from the top of the tower and gradually decreases, while the direct steam is sprayed into the bottom to take off the residual solvent in the oil, the top exported mixed The top outlet mixed vapor is connected to the vacuum condenser, which is connected to the jet pump to keep the tower operating under certain negative pressure, and there is a liquid level indicator installed at the bottom of the tower to ensure the liquid seal and stable oil flow; all the solvent mixture is condensed in the condenser and then enters the water separation tank, the upper solvent overflows to the solvent tank for recycling, the separated water flows through the boiling tank, and the boiling tank passes into the direct vapor to recover the residual solvent in the water. The steam is recovered, and then the waste water is discharged into the water seal tank.
In the dephenolization section, the mixed phenol liquid is purified and concentrated to the methanol mixture tank, which is sequentially punched into the methanol evaporator, reactor and film evaporator for evaporation and concentration, and the methanol vapor coming out is condensed and resupplied to the extractor for recycling.
(5) Exhaust gas absorption section
In the tail gas recovery section, n-hexane tail gas recovery in the defatting section adopts paraffin recovery system, and methanol tail gas recovery in the de-alcoholization section adopts freeze recovery to improve recovery efficiency and reduce consumption.
All the free gas from the leaching plant, after pressure balancing by the balance tower, enters the final condenser for condensing again, and the non-condensable gas enters the tail gas absorption tower. Liquid paraffin is sprayed from the top of the absorption tower, which absorbs the paraffin oil with solvent in the tail gas, called rich oil, and flows into the bottom of the tower, and the absorbed tail gas is discharged into the atmosphere from the top fan of the absorption tower through the flame arrestor. The rich oil is pumped into the heat exchanger to exchange heat with the poor paraffinic oil which has not absorbed the solvent, and then heated to a certain temperature by the rich oil heater and then enters the top of the desorption tower. The solvent mixture evaporated from the desorption tower enters the vacuum condenser for recovery.
(6) Miscella Refining Section
The miscella after being concentrated by one steam is pumped by one steam pump into the outdoor mixing oil tank for temporary storage. The mixed oil is heated and tempered to 60 ºC by the mixed oil pump. Mixed with a certain concentration of lye quantitatively, through the static mixer, oil and alkali reactor, after temperature regulation, through the centrifuge oil soap separation, clear oil into the second evaporator.
